The Free Delta International Film and Video Festival Begins Tomorrow

2008 April 10

Delta International Film and Video Festival runs tomorrow through Sunday at the Bologna Performing Arts Center in Greenwood. And the best part is that it’s all free admission!

In program 1 at 3:30 on Friday will be your opportunity to see Oxonian April Grayson’s film Another Word For Family as well as Alex Harder’s We Hear Sirens, both of which just played this week at the Crossroads Film Festival.

In program 2 at 7:30 on Friday will be a 50 minute multimedia performance of Alluvium by Mark Snyder.

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. in program 3 will be We Shall Not Be Moved, a moving (excuse the pun) documentary by Chris Potter.

On Sunday the Delta State University student showcase will be program 4 and includes 12 experimental films.

This is a great way to support Mississippi filmmakers and see some great experimental films for free. As our famous Oxonian Barton says, “You won’t find that in a normal theater.”
