Sordid Lives Prequel TV show Stars Ole Miss Alum

2008 April 28

Sordid Lives starts a bit earlier than where the 2001 sleeper hit film starts so that the matriarch is still living and this small Texas town drama has just begun. Starring Olivia Newton John and Rue McLanahan, the film and series and original play were created by Del Shores. Shores has also written episodes of Queer as Folk and Dharma and Greg. His characters tend to be quirky but enthralling. As much fun as the film was, I am looking forward to the TV show!

Ole Miss alum, Tate Taylor, will play Richie Miller in three episodes. He is currently filming now in Shreveport. Taylor has previously acted in Queer as Folk, Six Feet Under, and Charmed. His short film Chicken Party played at the Oxford Film Festival in 2003. He also recently directed and produced Pretty Ugly People starring Missi Pyle. The film premiered at Crossroads Film Festival in Jackson last month.

The show premieres July 23rd on the Logo channel.
